Shortly after their arrival, the recon squad was attacked by an unknown party, which resulted in the deaths of four of the team's knights, including Knight Varham, in which the three survivors were forced to flee after their comrade's power armor was scuttled (while they were still in them). Recon squad Artemis was a squad for the Brotherhood of Steel, and were sent as a preliminary team to investigate the Commonwealth, to acquire technology and intel, before the Brotherhood sent in any further troops.
